Wei / Vivien Zhang, Licensed Acupuncturist and Certified Chinese Herbalist, is a well known specialist in treating illness and disorders with Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) and acupuncture. Vivien is the acupuncturist at Center for Pain Medicine, research acupuncturist at Department of Psychiatry, Mass General Hospital (MGH) and medical staff member of Emerson Hospital. She has been working as a professor of New England School and Acupuncture (NESA) since 1999. She participated in several clinical research programs such as “Acupuncture and Pain”, “Acupuncture Treatment for Menopausal Hot Flashes”,“Stop Hypertension with Acupuncture” at MGH. Before joining NESA, she served as Senior Physician of Guan An Men Hospital (GAMH) Affiliated to China Academy of TCM in Beijing, where she treated patients with combined Chinese medicine and western medical treatments. Vivien Zhang is also an advocate of traditional Chinese nutrition. The importance of Chinese nutrition is strongly emphasized in her practice and teaching since 1994.
Vivien received her medical degree from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), Doctoral Degree of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science (PCOM), and Master degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion from Simmons College.
